Bossoms Boatyard has been working with and for the Ministry of Defence for approximately forty years. The first time was in the early 1960’s when the Ministry of Defence required a new re-design of their recreational training sailing dinghy and Bossoms produced the ideas and the drawings for the very famous 14ft Bosun Sailing Dinghy. This dingy has now been produced by Bossoms throughout that period and recently has been updated to the Bosun Dinghy MK II. Subsequently to that in 1975 the Ministry of Defence required a re-design on the 16ft 6” ASC Dinghy for the sea cadets throughout the UK and Bossoms produced the new set of drawings and again has been producing this craft now for approximately twenty-five years in its current form.
